Education
Educational Initiatives Thomas C. Assaly believed that it was best to employ a pragmatic approach to charitable initiatives and social programs. Accordingly, he believed that education is paramount to effecting positive and lasting change in the world. The Thomas C. Assaly Foundation focuses its educational initiatives on areas that specifically require bolstering in our communities. For example:
- The Assaly family established University of Ottawa student residences so that students of low-income families may attend university and reside in a stimulating environment without the high expense of rental accommodations.
- Thomas C. Assaly was both a celebrated business leader and a humble and devoted spiritual man holding respect for all faiths in his community. In keeping with this philosophy, the Assaly family provides thousands of dollars to faith-based schools annually.
- The Assaly family generously supports academic and sports mentoring programs such as The Neeje Association for Women and Family, designed to help young women achieve success both in education and society.
